We are well underway with glorious blooms this summer at the farm. My favorites so far have been the Larkspur. The joy that all of this hard work brings me is remarkable. Larkspur was the first plant I started this season from seed, early March. It is a slow growing plant, that I ever imagined could be as beautiful and tall as it is now. For many weeks it was less than an inch in height. I planted it out into the field at the end of April. At this point the plant was maybe 3 inches tall. I feel that this flower, in particular, has made the most impact to the bouquets that I create every week. This Thursday I am excited that some purple variety’s of the Larkspur will be in bloom, ready to incorporate into the bouquet designs.
