About
A commitment to soil health, sustainability, and education
Phloem Flower Farm is committed to engaging with the community to educate and research ecologically based agricultural practices, and to provide sustainable flower options to the community.
Phloem Flower Farm started in 2022 with a dream to bring local flowers to my community. It has grown into a business that focuses on growing wholesale for local florists and farmer florists. This year, 2026, will be our first year offering courses and summer camps. I am excited to bring together my two passions, science education and cut flower farming, into my business this year.
My name is Casey Hansen.
I am a licensed high school science teacher, and in my free time, I research and educate people about cut flowers and soil health.
I am a doctoral student at Antioch University New England studying sustainable cut flower growing practices. I study the impacts of various growing practices on soil biodiversity. I look forward to using my cut flower farm to expand the research in this field, and to help bring more sustainable farming practices to cut flower farmers everywhere.
Phloem Flower Farm is a family run business in Swanton, Vermont. My husband Dan, my son Oliver, and my daughter Millie help make Phloem Flower farm successful. I am so grateful for their help.
We would love to hear from you.
