The seed starting extravaganza has officially started for the 2023 flower season. I was able to get myself a soil blocker this year, and I used it for the first time today. It is definitely a little more time consuming, but I am excited to be using less plastic, and not having to worry as much about the number of trays I have. It’ll be really easy and flexible for me to add more flowers as needed.

Today, I started my snapdragons, larkspur, and stock. Last year my snapdragons and larkspur did really well! Since they are cold hardy, I was able to plant them mid April in my homemade tunnel. This is the first year I am growing stock. I am really excited to see how it goes. With a new baby on the way this June, I had to scale back the amount of variety I am growing. However, I really wanted to try stock, so I am hoping it goes well.
